Cypress has its primary use as a support for the circulatory system, blood and lymph flow. It has a warm, woody and slightly spicy aroma, and will be familiar to many being often used in men's toiletries such as aftershaves. It has an antiseptic and detoxifying effect, helps to deodorise and reduce perspiration, and may also be used in a massage blend to support the removal of excess fluid in the body. It is refreshing, uplifting, toning, astringent and cooling. Use it in massage blends, bath oils, steam inhalation and room fragrancing. Blends beautifully with Cedar, Juniper, Orange and Lavender.
