A true hydrosol (also known as a hydrolat) is a valuable by-product of the distillation process that produces the essential oil from plant material. The hydrosol is the water that separates from the essential oil following condensation.
Hydrosols contain many important water soluble compounds which are not available in the essential oil, and they have important therapeutic qualities in their own right. Hydrosols have a delicate nature and a light aroma and are often used in situations which require gentle aromatic care, especially for children, the elderly, the highly sensitive, and those debilitated by illness. Vetinary care is a growing area for the use of hydrosols.
Here are our five best-selling hydrosols: Helichrysum, Rose, Orange Blossoms, Highland Lavender, Organic Highland Lavender.
